Ladies and gentlemen, our president visited our fair city last week. Sure, he uttered crazy things into TV cameras all across the country like he always does, but when he comes to Erie we’re going to focus on that. Behold, then, the following s*** from our president’s Erie address:

Whoa, President Trump saved his plan to kill the virus for our ears first! This is great. What do you think is the plan?
“Get your Governor to open up Pennsylvania. Get your Governor to open it up.”
Uh oh. This is not a plan to kill the virus at all. This is a plan to surrender to the virus.

Now our president is in favor of free medicine? Like, socialized medicine? I’m doubtful, but at least this is the start of some plan. What else?

Fact check: false. So, our three part plan is (1) rampant spread of the virus, (2) empty promises of socialism, and (3) rushing a vaccine before it’s ready. Hard to believe this guy’s gone bankrupt.

Zero. Biden has said this zero times.
“And you know it because it’s not up to Sleepy Joe, he’s gonzo. It’s up to the others and his party.”

Wait a minute. Do we know Biden’s going to ban fracking because he keeps saying it (he doesn’t), or because other people will force him into it against his will? Both of these things can’t be true.
“Joe Biden has pledged repeatedly to ban fracking, right? You’ve all heard it. Have you heard it?”

Now we’re back to the original claim – that Biden openly wants to ban fracking. I’ve never heard Biden say this. I’ve heard our president keep insisting he heard it, but I’ve also heard him insist Ted Cruz’s dad shot JFK. This is important, so let’s take some time to set this record straight: Biden has proposed banning new leases on federal land. That makes up about 10% of all U.S. fracking, and wouldn’t affect existing federal leases, of which there are many. “But Ted,” you’ll say, “what about the debate later in the week when Biden pledged to transition out of the oil industry? Isn’t that proof that Trump was right?” No. Transitioning out of the oil industry is what George W. Bush proposed in his 2006 State of the Union, and you’ll note that the industry hasn’t been “outlawed/exiled/eradicated/totally extinguished” yet. Having a long-term plan is good because oil is non-renewable. Wantonly flushing the lifeblood of our economy down the toilet next year is not on the table from either party.

If you’re keeping score, we’ve now gone from (1) Joe Biden continually insists he’ll ban fracking, to (2) okay he doesn’t but others will force his hand, back to (3) Biden insists, and back again to (4) the socialists/communists/Marxists/Canadians will make him do it. This is head-spinning incoherence considering his own socialist proposal just minutes earlier.

Donald Trump did not bring back the U.S. steel industry.
“If I don’t sound like a Washington politician, it’s because I’m not a politician.”

To me, the problem isn’t that our president “doesn’t sound like a politician.” It’s that he doesn’t sound like an adult. I just want an adult.

You see? When Donald Trump asked the Ukrainian president to announce an investigation into Joe Biden in exchange for U.S. military equipment – trading U.S. foreign policy for a personal favor – that was for us. When he spent an entire year of his term at his golf clubs (more time away than any other modern president), that was for us! When he hired a secret foreign agent of Turkey as his national security adviser, cut his own taxes, and injected himself into every conversation about every topic from whether Russia attacked us to how we should protest injustice – that was for us! News flash: none of this was for us. Never will be. It can be over soon enough, if we all just do our part on or before November 3rd. Don’t be silent.
That’s our report for this week. Be sure to check out the links for more info on any particular topic and, as always, thanks for reading.
