Without further ado, your Idiotville feel-good story of the week:

Erie’s own Anthony Fuhrman appeared on The Titan Games, an American Gladiators-style show on NBC hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Fuhrman lives in Florida these days but he grew up here and went to McDowell High School, and we all know a big piece of Idiotville stays with you wherever you go.

On The Titan Games, Fuhrman laid waste to his opponent in his first challenge, an event called “The Uprising,” defeating him in all of 22 seconds before losing his next challenge on Mount Olympus. He came just short of moving onto the Battle of the Titans episode.

The crazy thing is, this is nowhere close to Fuhrman’s biggest accomplishment. The man is a 12-year Army veteran, for which we thank him.

He also competed in the World’s Strongest Man competition last year in Raleigh, and won. That’s right – Erie produced a World’s Strongest Man.

I don’t know what Fuhrman is up to in Florida, but from the look of things I’d say he pushes hurricanes out of the way of vulnerable towns during the rainy season. Congratulations to Anthony on a job well done and thanks for bringing some glory to our hometown!
